Dorchester has a unique mix of independent traders and high street brands and we want to keep them open. Let’s all pull together to support Dorchester by buying local goods and services.
I have always loved living in Dorchester. The people are enthusiastic about the town. The history blends in with modern day life, yet is still uniquely engrossing. The community is outstanding and generous. It is peaceful and energetic at the same time. The town crier is a beautiful and eccentric gentleman. Dorchester is diverse and welcoming. And it is so pretty.
For me Dorchester is just a lovely place to be. Great heritage with some wonderful advocates. We have a decent range of shops and some lovely architecture. And of course we have Thomas Hardy.
It’s my home town and I’ve always loved the people & shops and all facilities. Always plenty to do, clubs, classes, great cafes, pubs, restaurants, cinemas... what more can I say... will always love Dorchester.
Good public transport, trains, shopping, plenty of coffee shops and it’s always been a market town.
We moved our family to Dorchester in 2019 and couldn’t have made a better move. The history of the town is compelling and the sense of community is widespread. Our children’s education is second to none with the quality choice of schools in the town and we feel safe and secure both inside and outside of our home.
I like that people say hello when you walk past them, it’s so friendly 🙂
